That is without a doubt the most irritating pedal I've ever heard.
Worse than this?
Winston, you pose an inextricable quandary: which of the truly awful is truly the awfulest? And, is there a meaningful distinction between irritating & annoying?

@ Hugo, Thanks, That Mooer Red Truck is very cute. I like the ease of tweaking and remembering and calling up the setups and many of the different sounds you can get. Cool idea in a very portable multi.

Not sure I'd want to submit my poor old semi-irreplaceable cassettes to that kind of physical abuse.
OTOH, if the device recorded your cassette- maybe storing a dozen + at a time- and manipulated the "virtual cassettes" in the same fashion? That i'd dig.
Cool idea, though!

A friend of mine has one of these. He sent me some clips which were between slightly interesting & cool, depending on the source cassette. The main problem is the knob. At the very least it needs to be a larger detented knob, like those used for jog/shuttle operations on video editors. Better yet would be something much larger, with enough mass to spin like a flywheel. My friend has tried various sized plates taped over the knob in order to get a more tactile interaction with the device. The guy who makes these seems pretty open to the feedback my friend has given him, so there may be options in the future.

First thought that comes to me is that this thing should ALWAYS be plugged into a Sampler/Looper/Recorder so you can capture the sound, and play it back later by triggering it with another device. That would give you the 'virtual cassette' aspect, plus the ability to store and play back the best sounds it produced, without further wear & tear on the cassettes.

I think someone already posted a video of the Catalinbread Belle Epoch Deluxe. However, with a trio of fun techniques to use with it, heeeeeeere's Howard!

Too much fun; almost makes me want the Rainbow Machine. I do run my MIKU through Delay & Verb, for a little 'air' around the sound, and I have set up a Patch in my Line 6 M5 that's essentially a "Shimmer" effect (Reverb + Octave) for it to 'sing' through.
He's probably right about the harmonic series coming out of the Distortion pedal.

Well, I have a RM but no Miku.
Lordy...we need to pick a city between Baltimore and Dallas, toting all our gear, and just see how many goofy & insane noises we can make before we create an auditory singularity, destroying the world.

About 10 years ago, a bunch of us from the Low Down Lowdown got together to make a joyful noise, and it was quite a blast. Not sure how far I'd be able to go, but would certainly consider such an event.
