I was very impressed by the last Kawai piano that I played. Have to admit that I am very intrigued by this offering also, especially since it seems to undercut even the Yamaha CP-40 in price. From what I gather in the demo that I saw, suggested retail in the USA will be around $1595?

$1,799 at Kraft Music. Still very competitive.

+1 .. did a shootout between mp7 cp4 rd800 and NP2 at musikmesse .. same impression

If only the keys were better .. and the upper heights more profond .. and velocity curves more adjustable .. well, maybe NP3 will fix that

we have to wait also for production-ready Kurz Forte .. the tech sample there simply hang up itsself during demo .. best to have a NE4D on top for backup to bridge the reboot time ..

So, reviewing the specs, what is the possibility of using an external 61 key controller w/ 9 faders in tandem with the MP7 as the sole sound source to access the Organ and other extra voices on the MP 7? Given the 256 note polyphony, it still makes for a light weight 2 keyboard gigging setup.

Yes, thatīs it,- WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR what ever will come in future. wave

When I look at my Kurz PC361 and itīs update cycles and it is still not bug free up today,- I expect similar experience w/ not only new Kurz gear in future.
Iīm tired of that truely.

During the wait for all kind of unfinished flagship waporware to be finished or itīs arrival on the market in general,- Iīm pretty sure, a Kawai MP7 w/ all itīs features and for about EUR 1.500.- incl. 19% VAT will be a great stage instrument and sound good enough for the average joe audience out there as well as for most musicians, especially these not being dedicated classical trained concert acoustic piano players and doing solo piano gigs.

Any NORD Piano 3 will be much more expensive and even the Kurz Forte is about twice the price.

Iīm also not aware of any Kawai gear which needed lots of updates and fixes once it was released,- normally you can go into a shop, buy an play.
Build quality normally is good and the MP7īs sounds are tweakable too.
Iīll definitely check it out and hope it blends well w/ my PC361.

I already had that in mind w/ the MP6 but waited for a MP7 in the hope of better e-pianos.
I think that happened now.

At the moment I'm seeking a replacement Stage piano with strong controller capabilities for my RD-600. I can manage 46 lbs so the MP7 weight is not a problem for me. I really liked the playability, controller capabilities and potential soundboard adjustments on previous Kawai pianos that I played before. I may be in the minority & old-school but I also love the handsome wooden endcaps as well. Does anyone know when delivery starts so I can hopefully locate one and evaluate?
