I have a Rok n Sok as well, and I've been very happy with it. It's not a hydraulic one, you adjust the height by spinning the threaded vertical support and then (optionally) locking it with a set screw. But mine has a back support which is golden for long gigs.

I have the Roc N Soc saddle seat with backrest. Very comfortable but round seems like a better choice. Perhaps I'll get one.

It has been discontinued, but I use a Pearl D2000BR throne with a very slim backrest, as shown in the link:

Very stable, a bit heavy, stays in my shop/studio most of the time.

Question for Anyone: Does the Roc N Soc Nitro backrest have forward or tilt-forward adjustments, or only a single, set position. I have always wanted an adjustable backrest that could push some support forward into my back, as my usual slumped playing position on a standard bench or seat leads to backaches. I try to have good posture, but I inevitably end up with a hunched back after a couple hours. Thanks.
