Great look, truly original. I've never heard an opinion as to whether these were any good. It kinda became the template for the Klein guitar. I think Eastwood is importing a modern version of the Breadwinner.

They were kind of forward-looking, for their time, not just in terms of the body design, but the electronics and the 24-fret neck. I have very vague recollections of one of the early Prog guitarists with one, either Anthony Phillips or Peter Banks? Someone with a better memory, or search engine, might know.

I had a Gibson Corvus II for a short time, affectionately known as "The Can Opener". Made me think there was just too much nose candy at a late meeting one night, and it went into production before anyone could sober up. It weighed next to nothing, sounded as thin as it felt, and looked as little like a Gibson as possible.

These aren't the weirdest in the thread, but they definitely have a certain oddity about them:

Look through the gallery, and I think you'll get a better picture of the inspiration for their design aesthetic.

I think they would be Sir Mix-A-Lot approved.

Breadwinners were played by endorsees David Cassidy and Glen Campbell, of course, and one of the house band on the old Sonny & Cher Show played one. They had really advanced circuitry and switching for their era. The look just never caught on...

I've played a few myself, and gotta say they're damn nice guitars. I never owned one simply cuz price, availability, and cash on hand never cosmically aligned.....so far....

Never a DUH! moment! Well, almost never. OK, OK! Sometimes never!

I recall liking the look of those when they were current too- still do but haven`t seen one in ages.

A Breadwinner? I believe Eastwood makes a Breadwinner clone. It's a cool shape, which became the starting off point for the Klein & other derivatives of the "Ergonomic" school of guitar design.

Wow, Eastwood-I ran into them at the Tokyo Music Instrument Fair-which by the way, was supposed to be happening in November this year but for unexplained reasons has been postponed till 2014.

Quite so, here is the Eastwood version-they didn`t even change the name:

Same old surprises, brand new cliches-

Yes, it's another harp guitar. Sue me:

The company - Emerald Guitars - is based in Ireland. This guitar's made of carbon graphite (which I love), and has a 24" scale neck (which I'm not crazy about) like a Fender Jaguar, I believe. At 1850 Euros new, it's the most affordable harp guitar I've seen. :D
