I've been thinking about a wireless system for my guitar and I have heard both good and bad. The bad being, the signal gets dropped and they're tone robbers. Are there any of you out there that can give me a little insight? I've been looking at the Shure products mostly. There's a Shure BLX14 Guitar Wireless System at $299 and a Shure PGX14 UHF Guitar Wireless System at $319.

Thanks

I've read good things about the newer Line 6 units. Never actually played through one though. They're in roughly the same price range as Shure.

I think that every wireless system has some kind of tone-robbing element to it, so I'd say you'd have to try before you buy, or buy from a dealer with a good return policy.

I bought a UHF one that's good up to 400 ft.
It was $99 at MF on one of their STUPID deals.
AKG GB40 Guitar Bug.
What the heck, you can't go wrong.
Discontinued, now, but others are available now and then.

Keep an eye out. rawk

Well there`s this one-introduced to me by Roger himself, before it was on the market:

I just bought the Line6 Relay G30 system last week. Used it with two different bands at two different venues this past weekend.

The damn thing feels and sounds exactly like a guitar cable. Highly recommended.

Thanks for the input Mooseboy. I've come close to pulling the trigger on one of those a few times. It's just one of those things I don't really need, and I always find myself getting some other piece of gear instead.

Maybe sometime this year...
