dead at 59?! damn, that suuuuucks.

Bob was a flat-out beast on the instrument. I remember his first interview in GP; it inspired me to buy my first slide.

Yeah, 59 is too soon. I always found his passion for whatever he was doing really inspiring. I loved it that he would study SO much behind a culture's music to truly understand it - way beyond the notes.
