I just wanted to put this guy on everybody's radar: Marty Bell's Refinishing
http://www.martybellfinishing.com/index.html

A guy on another board had his Ibanez refinished by him, and I thought the results were spectacular, so I thought I'd share.

I don't like sparkly guitars, not even sparkly Gretsches, but I DO like that. Wow!

I own only one sparkly, but there are a couple on my G.A.S. list...but if you look at he website, this guy does it all: quilts, stripes, partly-sparkly designs.

And affordable...

I'm not a sparkly guitar guy either, but that, I must admit, is pretty sweet looking.

I never looked into a new finish but I had thought the price would be more. That is a nice looking finish on the orange sparkle. Judging by the photo the surface appears deep under the glassy clear.

Even though there is a city map as a background image on the contact page I cannot tell where the guy's business is located except by Googling his area code. Even that could be off as my own area code is not where I live or work. I see a lot of "Vista" on the map but don't recognize anything. I guess that is Vista California with the 760? He needs the area he works from on his webpage. It matters when I might have to ship my guitar away.

Googling the number suggests San Diego.

I have no problem with sparkly guitars, and that looks amazing to me!

Nice job on that guitar, but I don't care about a guitars finish or how brightly it shines, I keep them clean, as I bought them, to me a guitar is a tool, not a collectors item or a showpiece. Others can like the fine look of a showpiece guitar no problem to me at all, let them have at it, it is their money. All I care about is how it plays and it's tone, and if it gets a few dents or scratches no big deal.

I've never had a guitar refinished, myself. Never needed one. But if I were...

i looked through his gallery, and this guy's stuff looks quite professional. So if I need one, he's going to be on the short list.
