Was in Montreal for the weekend. A buddy there has just bought a Blackstar 1 watt head with reverb and a matching 1x12 cab, though it's rated for 50 watts. I WAS AMAZED! This thing is astoundingly loud, girthy, ballsy, with a nice clean and a devastating grind side. Everything I like about Rob Rose's Soloist 60, well, almost; is in this tiny thing. I always thought 5 watt amps were pointless for anything but bedroom shredding and tiny studios, but this amp can fill all those niches. Ya gotta check one out!

I have a Vox AC4 that I love. I actually prefer the sound when it's switched down to the 1 watt setting; even the 1/4 watt setting isn't bad. If it had reverb, it'd be even better. Maybe I'll have to look into the Blackstar; I played and liked their 5 watt amp a few years ago.

As mentioned in another thread, I just bought a Egnater Rebel 30. I can dial it down to 1 watt - or up to 30 watts or anything in between. I love this amp. Crazy thing is I only paid $399 used but in perfect, like new condition.
Most undervalued amp on the market IMHO.

I've been looking at the Rebel. Anything at all that you don't like about it that I might want to consider?

I just started gigging with the Blackstar 5 watt combo. So far so good.

I bought a Blackstar 1 watt combo with reverb a few months ago for my studio and am loving it. The speaker emulation output works really well.

I've been playing through my Rebel 30 a lot since I got it about a month ago and I'm having a blast with this little tone beast. Huge range of tone possibilities. Haven't found anything I don't like about it so far.

I LOVE cool low-watt tube-amps for the "play the amp" volume-knob and "touch" approach (doubtless many of you knew that). This sounds like a great addition to the market! I'd love to try one...

Scumback makes some REALLY cool vintage-Celestion-style PVC ("Paper Voice Coil") speakers that are EXCELLENT candidates for dynamic touchy-feely use with such low-watt tube-amps...

I don't live there, but I know Archambeault Music from my teens. Bartholomew would be the one to ask...
