Last night I went to see Foriegner at a Casino in Mount Pleasant Michigan and loved it. I been to very few big music events(shame on me for being too cheap as a kid and working all the time) but the band did a great job getting the crowd on their feet and being part of the party. I could list several of their hit songs and learned one of them but was still amazed as they played song after song and I realized they were all hits and are still played regularly on the radio after what 30 years? Best $42 I spent in a long time. Jim

That is one of the best things about seeing a veteran band- concerts are a lot like "Best Of" albums.

Yeah, over the decades I've seen them live with 2 different singers now and 1 different one on TV on AXS.
Correct me if I'm but the only ORIGINAL band member is the one guitar player, which is a big part of their signature sound.
Can't think of his name, having a senior moment right now. wink

In all incarnations....they rocked...but of course I liked the original line up best which is usually the way it goes.

Foreigner has a lot of great songs and by chance, I just bought a 4 pack of their cd's and have them playing in the car.
I've been having fun getting into those songs less played on the radio.
They rock as well.

Randy

I am reminded of a certain episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force...

Mick Jones is the guitarist/founder/songwriter. I think Jason Bonham drums for them, sometimes...

Liked them as a kid... but boy, the early albums had 3 or 4 hits and then some filler.

Went to Soaring Eagle, eh? Foghat and Journey went through there a few years ago. Didn't see them, though.

How's the venue there?

fang sorry took so long to answer. I peaked at the comments but did not have time to do reply. To be honest I had to look up venue to be sure what it means - saw the word lots of time and I been in school more years than a sane person should but never looked it up. The hall at Soaring Eagle seats about 3000 to 3500 according to a security guard I talked to. Floor elavates away from the stage about the right angle. Seats were straight back chairs with good seat and back cusions spaced OK distance apart close but not really cramped. Center sections good view of stage - side sections you could see it but better to watch on one of the giant screen tv's
one on each side of the stage. Sound level for this one was just right for my taste - a little loud but not overwhelming. You could shout to someone beside you and they could understand. Hope that was what you were asking. Next time I will pop for center seats about $10 more. Jim

That's a pretty good sized hall, considering where it is. I always preferred those smaller venues compared to the arenas, due to good views from anywhere, and containment of sound. Plus, arenas seem to be too impersonal.

Glad you had a good time. Sorry I missed it!
