Please share all information and suggestions on collaborating via the internet. My bassist is recording his parts in California. What suggestions do you guys have for this approach? What mistakes should we avoid? Thanks.

One thing I don't ever recommend is the vocalist being remote, unless you're quite certain they have the space, equipment, and rock-solid voice to pull it off. I tried doing an internet collab with a singer once, and not only was she unable to sonically isolate herself from the rest of the noise in the house, but she gave me three takes, all of which were fundamentally unusable because of pitch issues.
