I love the fact he covers "Oops I did it again" and kills it!!

I like the Tele with the Strat pickups and the newer style cutaway bridge with the flat saddles...very clean sound.

RT is great! I have been a fan for years and have seen him in concert countless times and own just about everything he has put put on vinyl, CD and DVD. I don't think any guitarist steps from acoustic to electric and back again and just nails it.
His sound is all his own, instantly recognizable. Thanks for the link!

Man, that was outstanding! I love the way he gets so much fullness out of that clean of a sound. A little compression, a mild tremolo, a very small amount of reverb and he's like a freakin' wall of sound. Then he rolls up the volume and hits it a little harder and it's beautifully dirty. Anyone eho can pull a sound that massive out of a Tele with strat p/ups, a Twin and a compression pedal really does qualify as one of the best guitarists on the planet, like the DJ said.

I've been an RT fan since hearing "Shoot Out The Lights" as a kid in 1982 and going "who is this genius of a guitar player?" That it came on the college radio station amid punk songs and matched their intensity was awesome.

That he's still vital and prolific and thinking of new ways to challenge himself at 62 is inspiring. Each new record is a treat for me, guitar-wise, musically and lyrically.

I'm also surprised by no compression pedal... but I did see an old clip of him demonstrating his picking and plating style with his 50s strat unplugged and it had the same tone! I think it's just his attack, the way he hits the strings... it makes them snap.

Wonder what he does with the Micro POG?

Maybe that's the effect on the solo of "Wall Of Death" or general faux-12-string bits?

What is that little tic of his head to the side about? I've seen huim do it on other footage as well.

Damn, can't load it on my old machine. Isn't he still playing Ferrington guitars? They look like Fender hybrids (Strat-style bodies, Tele-style necks & a variety of pup's), but I've seen him playing them for years. Always an amazing show!

I caught the NPR interview and performance, great stuff!
