Much gratitude, my friends, for all the good wishes. Out here on the margins of niche, non-pop, non-trendy music, the recognition & affirmation connoted by the Grammies is a kind of big deal. A win would give the statue to the producer, John Schneider, (who is an amazing guitarist BTW,) but the nomination does provide a certificate, which will go on the wall in my studio, next to the one for my Kronos CD production from 2005. Things are kind of humble at this end of the spectrum, the weird music department. I received exactly one comp copy of the finished product. There's not a big budget infrastructure in place for the experimental music world.

I remember reading about Harry Partch, and all the strange instruments he invented. I may pick up the CD, just for the halibut. Or at least check out if there's anything on You Tube.
I seem to remember borrowing an LP of his music from the local library many years ago.... I did that a LOT back in the day, LOL. All that endless curiosity, so little time....
Seriously, I am glad that there are people who are not interested only in the latest pop hits, especially since they're so pre-fabricated most of the time... a niche market of course, but that's cool.

Be forewarned that it's largely spoken word. It's a reading of Partch's book "Bitter Music" which has copious musical examples included, but it's mainly a reading of his journals of his hobo travels during the depression.
Thanks again for all the good wishes guys. I really appreciate the support & good thoughts. I haven't heard this year's competition yet, but I have a good feeling about this one.
