I had a few spare minutes to do some work on that Tele project with the GuitarFetish trem and body. There were a number of things incorrect on the body as manufactured, but I was able to compensate for that. I did some carving for belly-cut and forearm relief and decided to go without the pickguard (although I could still go back to it if it is something any buyer might like instead). I am thinking of doing a simple white with blackburst finish but am open to suggestions. There is no finish on the body presently. The neck is finished. The gold flame in the neck might suggest some other kind of finish. Scouting for ideas.

If you have any skill with doing a metal flake/"sparkle" finish, one of those with a deep green, blue, purple or red (think of gems like emeralds, sapphires, amethysts or rubies) would be stunning with that neck.

Even without the metal flake, a highly saturated "gemstone" color would still kick ass with that neck.

As an alternative, channel a bit of that 50's/60s era hot rod vibe and give it some racing stripes and a number. Classic combos would be:

1) aqua body & white stripes & black number

2) red body & white stripes & black number

3) navy body & red stripes & white number

4) white body & red stripes & black number

5) forest green body & white stripes & black number

6) lime green body & white stripes & black number

OTOH, a white pearl finish would be subtle & classy, but a little different.

OMG - What a fantastic piece of wood. It would be a shame to paint it!

I say sunburst stain or with that grain, maybe a sunset stain.

Who made the neck? It's fancy!

The neck is an in-stock Warmouth. Not much grain in the wood. I am leaning towards the pearl which would go nicely with the neck.

+1 on a stain (maybe a green see-through bamboo tint)...

So...what did you decide on?

Danny its stalled till Jan 10th, I broke a the Jig re engineering it. Now I am redesigning the jig so just hit a slow spot , but because its a hobby build I am enjoying it so that's half the battle there.
