Thank you, brother.

Spent much of yesterday, and all of this morning getting ready for whatever comes. My wife and I always have emergency supplies on hand but there comes a point where you just get in the basement, and wait for daylight.

It's looking really rough for folks further North and West - heavy snows in Coal Country, and major storm surges along the coast. All the best to everyone out there, and please, get ready.

Wishing everyone in the path of the storm our best wishes and we hope you all come out of it safely! It's gonna be a big one, so get ready and good luck to you...

I can't even begin to imagine what it all has to be like.

Quick report from the Mid-Atlantic. We're seeing a lot of rain right now, inland, not such high winds yet, but it's much heavier, closer to the coastline. Ocean City, Maryland is taking a big hit. By all reports, tonight through tomorrow is going to be the big story. Best hope for everyone is that Sandy keeps pushing Northeast, instead of turning inland.

from what i hear, con ed in NYC has exploded, and long island and manhattan are inundated...including the being rebuilt world trade center, the subways etc...

probably 100s of thousands are gonna be in real dire straits...

we're ok here in manchester, but the entire coastline is taking a pounding, and underwater...

and high tide is almost an hour away.

the morning light isn't gonna be pretty.

mojo and love sent to all afflicted, hope winston and others in the nyc/nj area are ok..

We fared very well here; I almost felt guilty to take any pleasure in it- thankful, but certainly won't gloat.

Had a long period of noisy wind and moderately heavy rain that Tuesday night, but nothing that extreme; a couple of very wet cats were perfectly happy to come in; good sized branch broken and hanging upside-down high in a maple in the front yard (same tree that yielded that log of very flamey, tightly-figured wood that I posted about a few years ago, when the "micro-tornado" bounced around us like a drill-bit); power dimmed for a few seconds yesterday afternoon, nothing more. There wasn't even all that much water on the cellar floor, and only in a small area, at that- it often gets a lot more water down there when it rains...

My second ex-wife is named Sandy.....just sayin.....

Glad to hear our guys so far, are reporting they safe and sound!

I live on the east end of Long Island and we fared much better that further west. Many people still are without power and that was before the storm that's brewing outside my office window right now. I work for government and we've been assigned to work for FEMA on Friday to help out. I'm glad I had the Pignose while the power was out. Keeps your mind off of things!

I'm located in south Jersey and it was really wild for about 12 hrs., the eye of the storm passed over our town, was calm for about an hour, then picked up again. Luckily we came out of it pretty much unscathed, but several friends sustained serious damage to their homes, we were blessed.
