I always have fun scanning QR codes with my BlackBerry and find these little codes are a great tool for advertisers and those wanting to provide additional information. That said, I find that most QR codes found in Keyboard Magazine don't work. Likely because they are usually printed out-of-focus but more importantly, are found on dark backgrounds, usually pasted over top of some existing print advertising. For trouble free QR scanning, it is important that the codes are printed as a sharp image on a white background. If you do this, folks will have little problem scanning the codes. Codes I find elsewhere in other magazines, transit advertising boards, wherever, I never have a problem. I have tried different code reading apps and blame the poor resolution found in Keyboard Magazine as the culprit.
Happy QR Scanning!!
