Kent Carmical almost certainly meant milliseconds when he wrote "[...] because the back of the mic picks up the voice a few microseconds behind the side facing the singer [...]" -- Since he's talking about the time it takes for sound to go about 6 feet and then reflect back, about 10.6 milliseconds.

Minor ish, I'm certain folks figured it out right away.

I definitely enjoyed the article and it made me decide to do a little new experimenting with vocal mic technique. (Although I'm far from a barely audible singer. grin )
