Hey everyone,

Five months ago I accidentaly blew up (there was a small flash and then a heck load of smoke coming from the vents) my Sweet 25.1, combo amp. I took it to a local music store to get fixed, five months and still nothing. Everytime I call them I hear the same thing that the parts are really hard to come by.
Does it really take five months to order and receive parts for a widely used amp and from a well known brand? It's not like the country I live in receives it's supplies via ship powered by sail anymore, except maybe for drugs but that's another story.

I was wondering what's the longest you have ever had to wait to have an amp fixed?

Cheers.

You let the magic smoke out? That wasn't good. Your amp will need a lot of work.

As for your question, you are in New Zealand and Warwick is in Germany. I'm not surprised that you local music store is having trouble getting the parts and that shipping is taking a while.

The parts are probably on the legendary "slow boat to China" and from there will go to Singapore, then to Australia and finally arrive in the land of Kiwis sometime next year.

As far as the history of my repairs, I have given something to a local repairman (no parts needed for the repair) who left it on a shelf for two months before he got around to doing the repair. He had to be reminded.

I've mailed an amp directly to the manufacturer (we're both in California) and it took a month to get back.

Sorry to hear about your amp and good luck.

Thanks Jeremy C for the reply,

I think you are right. I was hoping since I heard Warwick had a manufacturing plant in China then it would have been faster.

Re: letting the magic smoke out, we (the band) seemed to enhale quite a bit of it while getting out side, lol. I never knew that magic could give you a head ache.

Cheers.
