hey quick question. i love the sound that you hear on marching snares. that bright cutting sound. how is it made. i have seen heads made of kevlar and i know that gives a different sound. but how do you get that sound out of a drum set snare.

Surprising to me that there isn't a "drum forum" on here.... why do you think that is?

Anyway, I'm not a drummer, just like most of the people on here aren't. So I can only speculate. It sounds to me like tuning or the head - probably a bit higher tuning/tighter head. A piccolo snare to my ear has a similar sound - maybe try going with that and/or a metal snare.
