[quote=jeremy c]The drummers who play with Vic don't double his parts. Thats why i dont play with him :P,really what inspired me was the collective with drummer Steve Smith did you see that?
I like the small drumset: Four drums, hi-hat, ride and crash. That's the shiznit. Extra hi-hat on the right? That isn't. [/quote yeah man i love small sets, the xtra hat is for play double bass without crossing arms. thanks!

Well yes small kits are defo cool, but that doesn't mean a few extra toms or cymbals or HHs or snare might be useful. Drummers have got ti have GAS as well.

I totally agree,Texture and color are very important in music I myself use several types of sets for different situations.
Defo on that. Whenever I see a drummer coming up with a small or"reduced" kit, I have a nice feeling that it's going to be groovy and fun, and it usually is. Besides, a drummer who plays a smaller drumset, usually -not a rule of thumb, unfortunately- is more aware of nuances and dynamics than someone who "likes it big". So yes, I prefer them smaller (And I've had enough of both hahaha!).
I did played with Vic indeed, back in 1997 at a clinic (*) here in Caracas. Only the drummer was a Boss machine, and the guy who was filming was severely needing good lighting But there it is anyway.
(*) By "Clinic" I meant a Master Class at a small Theater. Not that we would disturb ill people's rest with "sick" bass sounds

Lucky dog, although that had to be some major league intimidation. Yet that had to be fun.
