Ethan,

I recently added six additional bass traps to my original four (total of 10 bass traps). They are 30"x60" and are stuffed with 4" of 6 pound density fiberglass.

All I can say is the difference in the sound quality of my system after I added the additional bass traps is nothing short of amazing!! The bass is tighter and goes deeper. There is a noticable improvement in dynamics. The soundstage has widened and there is no more listener fatigue.

The biggest improvement is that, for the first time, the sound coming from my speakers actually sounds like MUSIC!

Thanks so much for your advice regarding speaker placement and bass trap designs.

One question, would you be able to tell me to what frequency my bass traps are effective to. 30"x60" with 4" of 6# fiberglass.

Glad to hear of your success. Tell all of your friends how important room treatment is. thu

Bass traps don't work 100 percent then suddenly cut off below some frequency. It's a gradual roll-off. A hand towel absorbs something at 20 Hz, just not very much. So the answer is it depends on the thickness of the traps and also how many you have.
