Ladies And Gentlemen

The wife and I are going to the above place for a week next month, staying with friends in their time-share in Ixtapa. I don't know why people buy time-shares, but I'm willing to stay at them. And I'm thinking of bringing a bass with me. Any good place to play at? I've only been able to uncover Rick's Bar in Zihuatenejo, where there is a Friday evening jam session. Any other advice, etc. is very welcome.

Peace
Paul K

No ideas on places to play at there in Mexico, Paul- and may you and the Missuss have a great time down there- but I'm pleased to see someone from somewhere so nearby turn up here on the forum- I'm from over near Watkins Glen, myself, and had no idea you were just over the hills there in Ithaca! cool

Ever been to Ithaca Guitar Works? Rumble Seat Music? The 9s?

Maybe we might get together and jam a little sometime in the future, huh?

(Here I'm usually tagged as "Caevan O'Shite", the "SkeletonO'Fright" moniker is just for this October and Halloween...)

Ah....The Guitar Works. I had an apartment in the Dewitt Building for awhile a long time ago. And Rumble Seat is Drool City. I hit up THe Nine's for the blues jam about 6-8 times a year, and gig there about three or four times a year. A week from THursday I'll be there with an alt. rock originals trio.

I'm a bass player (so I'm usually posting on the bass forum), my main gig is Do It Again, which is a Steely Dan cover band. We'll be at Maxie's in Ithaca this coming Sunday night for an unplugged thing. I've phoned the Wildflower in Watkins for a gig, no reply yet. And I've dropped off a CD at THe Savoy, but can't find their phone number and they have no web presence at all. Do you know who to contact for that venue? Where else is there to gig out that way? I played once in Hammondsport (the place rocked!), but that's a long schlep from Ithaca.

Looking forward to meeting you. It'll be just like Stimpy's Big Day.

I live in LA but I bought one of my favorite guitars, a semi hollow Ibanez AE200, at Ithaca Guitar Works while on tour. Nice place, great selection, nice to be away from the hustle & bustle of a big city.

(Sorry to hijack your thread away from places to jam at in Ixtapa-Zihuatenejo, Mexico, Paul! ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS?)

Cool! It's still my overall favorite guitar shop, love that place, great people, excellent service and support.

I'll PM you with what I can tell you about The Savoy, etc.

When I can, I'd really like to catch one of your bands, particularly the Steely Dan deal. cool

And, yeah, sometime that'll be cool to jam!
