Pino Palladino (along with "compadres" Philippe Saisse and Simon Phillips) is again giving away a free track to his fans : GetJuke

With "Allegretto", their rendition of Beethoven 7th Symphony 2nd Movement almost sounds like a hit-song.

Enjoy!

Is the entire cd like that? Remakes of classical pieces?

Mr. Ramon:

You've posted here to promote PSP (and we let you get away with using the forum for advertising because we love Pino's playing), so maybe now you (or even Pino) could answer a few questions.

I was one of the lucky few that got to hear the stream of the live concert that the band did. I guess I got on their mailing list at the right time.

What bass or basses was Pino using?

On What's Wrong With You and in a few other places, it sounded like he was playing his fretless.

On Masques, he played a lot of harmonics which might have been possible on any bass, but if he was doing that on his red Precision with flats, I'm really, really impressed.

The project features Philippe and Simon a lot more than it features Pino, but that's ok, he seems to be able to insert his personality no matter what style he is playing.

Maybe he could tell us how he "switches gears" when going from style to style.

signed, long-time Pino Palladino fan.
