A couple of weeks ago my fairly trustee Peavey Bam 210 stopped working. I played through it only a few hours before taking it to church for practice. When I got to church I plugged in and immediately started tuning using the foot petal, all was fine until I tried to make any noise, which the amp wouldn't do. When I looked at the display there was a red status light on that had never been there before. When I turn the amp off it makes a loud noise, I don't really know how to describe it but the volume of this noise is not affected by the volume knob at all.

I have opened it up and don't see any loose connections. I am wondering if it's worth fixing or not. I love the amp but our budget is tight. I don't gig much, just play with friends a couple of times a month at church. I don't have a backup amp for now I have been plugging into the church system or borrowing a friends amp when possible.

Any thoughts on what to do would be great.

Plug your bass directly into the power amp in jack on the back. Your bass isn't enough to drive the output stage very hard but you should hear something at least.. If you do then the power amp stage is fine.. If not, then your power stage is toast and it's service time.. If the power stage is working then it's the preamp that is the culprit, and that amp is a digital modeling amp so the preamp will be very difficult to troubleshoot. Again, service time.

I expect the preamp is probably a module and you can order a replacement from Peavey.
