I just turned 58 yesterday. Rock and roll caught my ear in the 50's and I never looked back. 60's music was my school. Being able to play a song by The Beatles, Clapton, Page, Beck or Hendrix-these were my teachers. I still think The Beatles will go down as the greatest band of all time. In the 70's I discovered the blues guys, Albert, B.B. and Freddie, Southern rock-Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and all the rest. In the 80's, punk gave music the kick in the ass it needed. From the 90's to the present, music blossomed into a world of different styles and sounds. I love it all. But if I had to take one album to that proverbial desert island, it would be Chickenfoot. Sure the guitar playing is great, but this band plays like a BAND! That's what counts.
