I didn't want to post at first, because what comfort is hearing "I'm sorry" from some stranger like me? But honestly, this is so sad, that I just had to chime in that I acknowledge that the suffering going on here must be extreme. I am so, so, so sorry to hear this news. Blessings.

I totally relate to Joshua's feelings, plus I've just mourned the death of a close friend (got killed in a car crash this weekend), so it sorts of sums up. Have my condolences, Dan, and my best feelings for you and your family at these hard times.

Juancarlin, my condolences on the death of your friend. You and his family are in my prayers.
Hello everyone.
Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. My family and I are making some progress at putting our lives back together. It is really more like just concentrating on putting one foot in front of the other and not looking too far ahead right now.
Before all this I had been doing better in the local music scene than I have in years but all that is on hold for now. I feel no inclination to pick up an instrument and even the thought of being in front of an audience is something I just cannot face right now.
I know that this is just a phase and I hope that it passes soon because I certainly have much work to do and I hate the thought of losing my "gains" as it were but recovery has its own time table and I'll just have to forge on until then.
I really appreciate Jeremy C for helping me out and again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.
Always Yours, Dan

One luv, Brutha Dan. Stay strong.
When you're ready, you'll be playing again. I've always found some solace during hard times in playing music (although not performing -- either solo practice, or playing with close friends informally).
Juancarlin, my condolences to you as well. Sorry about the loss of your friend.
Peace, --Willie

It's good to "see" you online and functioning, Dan. It sounds like you've got your wits about you and you realize that the healing process can be long and difficult. Keep taking it a day at a time and don't push yourself to get back in the saddle until you're ready.
Sweets is right, music can be therapeutic in many ways whether you're just listening to it or playing it. It's good for the soul.
Hang in there and remember that you are loved and you have many people praying for you.

When DBB passed, I was surprised at how hard it hit me. I found solace in the bass. Of course, that is not nearly the same as what you're experiencing, Dan.
Peace. --SW
