http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-HAR-HD112C-PAK-LIST. They have them for 499.99 at sweetwater. It has everything I need. It is giggable, and can be used for personal practice. One stop shopping. Anyone know of anything else not more than $600 that is comparable to this? I also know that some of you think the speaker will fail at the seam....but I can't find any reviews of them failing yet.

I want one rig, for home practice, for gigging and band practice. I want it to be light and portable. GB Shuttle 3.0 1x10 combo. I do all that. I always have PA support for big gigs, and my non-Pa gigs are background jazz and it's plenty. I've had one gig where I thought I needed more, but really when I listened to the recording (via a little palm recorder set on the piano) it wasn't that bad. Probably more the room conditions than the amp - and a louder than necessary guitar player.

I was looking at those. Could it keep up with a rock band? The guitarist isn't overly loud, but the drummer can be. We play at your normal bars. Not without PA. It is a surprisingly loud little amp. I have used it in large rooms - gyms, ballrooms, etc. but that was with jazz groups.

This is nice. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r170/63p-bass/100_1528.jpg$540, 58 lbs. Enough power for me to play blues gigs. With PA support it might work in a rock band. No real subharmonics, but a 'Shape' feature that helps fatten things up a bit. Maybe with an EBS Octave Pedal....hmmm. A 4lb head and a decent light 2x10 is all I need. Good luck finding all that for $600.

How are you with wood work? Headwise, check out the GK MB2-500. It kills. I'd also look into the new Markbass LMIII although it's right at the $600 mark.

I've had a Genz-Benz ML200 1x12 for several years. I definitely recommend it.

THIS has a nice "aux" input, can go through headphones or send both aux and instrument to an amp. It also has a bunch of effects, amp and cab models and a drum machine. Just a suggestion as it would free up your head selection quite a bit since you might find something you really like or a killer deal on something that would do everything except offer an aux.

I "won" the Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. Nice grab for $490. It is only two months old. Saved a bit over 2 bills for it and it is local so I can pick it up.
Now to find a cab............. NICE! See if you can get one for me too! Hope you don't mind paying another $490... Seriously, be on the lookout for an affordable Berg 112 (or 2) or 210. Tom's 2x112 rig is surpassingly loud and tiny. Those are very well designed cabs with great crossovers.

Got the Genz Benz today....LOVE IT! I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
Sorry Neighbors! Great! Let us know how you like it. What was that last thing you said? I couldn't hear for all the noise.
