OK, I know this is a weird place to post this. But a lot of you guys know of me and what I do. We're trying to change up our wardrobes a bit and it is unbelievably hard to find ridiculous MEN's 80's clothes in ADULT sizes. Next to impossible in fact.

Think back to Flock of Seagulls, Howard Jones, OMD, Duran Duran, etc. Do you have clothes like these? I want them and so do my band mates. We are all similar sizes - 32-34 waist, roughly 42 chest, 16-ish necks.

Right now we're primarily looking for jackets - single button, light weight (have to wear for gigs after all). Think Miami Vice, again, Howard Jones, Spandeau Ballet, even Dire straights had a thing going for a while with a T-Shirt with a jacket over it, sleeves rolled up, Jeans and a headband.... You get the idea.

We've been doing the same outfits for 5 years, it's time to update, please help if you can. I've gotten a couple things off ebay, but not much there.

Dan,
I'm not sure if this will be 80's or not, but may be an idea to start: http://www.dancestore.com/

There are numerous web sites that specialize in period clothing and reproductions of period clothing for dancers and for theatrical performers. The site listed is primarily for swing dancers, so it might be an earlier period.

Another couple of links: http://www.only80s.com/80sFashionFile.html

Yep, it's hard. We've been rotating our wardrobe of late as well, and had a band shopping trip back in December.

We hit paydirt at a store in SF's Haight-Ashbury that actually makes clothes by hand using well-paid hand labour in the city itself! They even do things custom to order, and considering the quality and the workmanship, their prices are reasonable.

If interested, let me know, and I'll track down their contact info. But you may not be interested in ordering vs. trying on in person (though I think they have a satisfaction guaranteed clause). They donate money to breast cancer research as I recall.

Also check out your local resale/thrift shops. In my neck of the woods they're called "Goodwill" stores. Depending on your timing, some of the threads available in these stores can be amazing, and often for dirt cheap.
