NO matter the style, Conrad Lozano is never flashy but understated, and rock solid.
Sure, we love Geddy, Victor, etc. but some of the best Bass Players never take a solo, never clamor for attention, they just lay down the soldi foundation, the insidious groove, and the subterranea impetus that holds up and pushes the song forward. Conrad Lozano is one such player, he lets the music do the talking.

The proof is in the listening.

One of the great unsung Bass Players, he can do it all: Chuco's Cumbia

Don't Worry Baby

What's Going On?

I Got to Let You Know

Dream in Blue

Good Morning, Aztlan

My Personal Favorite: Just A Matter of Time

This Time

Mas Y Mas

Bajo Sexto, even!
El Canelo

I think the evidence shows that Conrad Lozano is a Bass Player with a full body of work well worth looking at in detail.

I hope you enjoyed the links.

I'm a Los Lobos fan the whole band is made of monster players. Conrad definitely deserves some props!

Live at the Filmore is a great concert DVD and Conrad and Hildago play "Politician" on the Govt Mule "Deepest End" DVD.

I'm a big fan.

They used to play for free every summer in Detroit.

I was able to see them in 1984, but not since, unfortunately.

Great band, with enough variety that if I only had all of their work to listen to, it would be a long time before I got tired of it, or learned to play it all.
