how about an interview, and or lesson with David Tronzo. He's an amazing slide player and I haven't seen much done on him since the mid 90's.

Yes - he actually did a tune on a songpage in GP, meant to be played on a turntable.... now you KNOW that was a long time ago, LOL! I think it was called "Spin". A great performance!

Tronzo did a clinic in Manhattan once that I was privileged to be at.

It would be a good thing to have an article on the man again... to continue GP's tradition of turning people on to "unsung heroes"... might not be a bad name for a rock band, come to think of it!

Yeah i read somewhere about the tune called spin. I know he's done a couple of lessons that were transcribed in GP before. I wish I could find a way of getting a hold of them. any suggestions??

Hey guys,
I live in Halifax N.S Canada and each July Tronzo along with Jerry Granelli, J Anothony Granelli,Christian Kugel and David Mott come to our city to put on a creative music workshop for a few weeks as well as take part in out TD Canada Trust Jazz festival.

We caught up with Toronzo last summer after watching the group Sanctuary play at a local cathedral/church. What a great experience, hearing his stories.

This year I plan on attending the CMW for two weeks and really getting to know these guys.

Have you guys checked out V16 before?

Yeah the stuff I've heard from V-16 is pretty amazing. The closest I've come to seeing this is a couple of videos on youtube and they all seem like great musicians. You're making me wish I lived in canada right now:)

Gents,

David is featured on the new Jerry Granelli album, and I'm hoping to do a feature on him in the October or November issue, so keep your eyes peeled.

Barry
