Craig - I just received my June publication of EQ Mag and couldn't wait to read it! Excellent tips for recording and mixing bass, I might add. Specifically tip #3 as I also use this technique if I am providing live sound reinforcement. Because playing live lends itself to an uncontrolled environment and then you get those bozos bitchin at you for not making them sound good so they can get the girls - Gees.. So I compress one channel and keep dynamics in the other and whola! Happy as a four hour cooked bean. Thanks for the great tip. I'll be using this technique in the studio more often. Keep this up, I love learning new stuff or confirming what I already do is good to go.
