hi, I have a problem and hope some1 can give me some direction.
I have a solid state crate dx212 modeling amp. heard a crackling sound from speaker and smelled something burning and smokin and shut amp off. The right speaker was cooked. so bought another speaker and now I get no sound from that side at all. I took amp apart amd blew it out and found a dead pine bug that may or may not have caused the problem. I switched the speaker wires from left to right side to check new speaker its fine. I get nothing from the right side but the left side sounds good.I then cleaned the circuit board as best i could and when useing right side Im now getting a loud hum from the bad side. Im afraid I'll cook new speaker so i have it disconected. Any help is apreciated.

It means the amplifier powering the left side is cooked. Not much to say, other than bring it to your local tech, unless you don't think it's worth it to spend $100 or more on the fix.

No, unless you have the schematics for the amp and quite a bit of experience with a soldering iron.
