konaboy
Hi, would like to experiment with triggering percussion sounds with foot pedal whilst playing keyboards. I know that Roland/Boss have some percussion pedals with built-in sounds, but wondering what other options there are. My MODX has amazing library of percussion sounds onboard, much better than the pedals, and it's multi-timbral, how could I trigger those sounds with my feet? Dr Mike Metlay
Consider any one of a number of available MIDI or USB-MIDI pedalboards normally used for guitar rigs. You could assign each to a MIDI note and control the MODX with them that way. If you want to be able to control dynamics with your feet, you'll want to use MIDI or USB-MIDI bass pedals; they're a bit more rare, and the super-nice ones are quite heavy and spendy, but the Keith McMillen 12 Step is a portable and compact alternative that won't break the bank.
