Hi - I'm Screaming Stone. I'm a guitar player who got ripped off - got pissed off after finding out over 1 million instruments are stolen every year and less than 2% are recovered - then decided to do something to stop this BS. We can't ask the thieves to stop stealing, but we can make it harder for them to sell stolen gear and help get back the instruments by publicizing stolen instruments to the people who might buy them - us musicians. I've been posting stolen instrument notices on myspace, The Gear Page, Guitar Trader, Ultimate Guitar, The Guitar Forum, Harmony Central - and now The Music Player Network (thanks Jim). The more people who see the stolen instrument notices, the better chance we have at getting the gear back into the hands of the musicians. Please spread the word. For the complete list of stolen instruments, please check out any of the other sites I post on: The Gear Page: http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.phpGuitar Trade: http://www.guitartrade.org/forum/index.phpUltimate Guitar http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/index.php?Guitar Forum: http://guitarforum.net/Harmony Central http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/index.phpMyspace.com/screamingstone (posted a bulletin and a blog) and http://www.screamingstone.com (the main site) Rock on, Screaming Stone

The Pullman Strike Band's U-Haul and ALL Gear Stolen
Contact: amelberth@gmail.com
On Saturday, December 29th, between 12:00am and 1:30am in Detroit, Michigan at the intersection of Wabash & Michigan, a U-Haul trailer that held all of the musical equipment of The Pullman Strike, a touring band from Chicago, Illinois, was stolen off the back of their vehicle.
One witness said she heard something outside of her establishment around 12:30am and saw a white van back up to the trailer, unhitch it, attached it to their van and drove away.
The trailer was a 5x8 U-Haul trailer painted orange and white with a decal of South Dakota on the side. The license for the trailer was an Idaho plate with license number 182CAL.
The trailer held all of the band members' merchandise and musical equipment and now they have been completely robbed their instruments that enabled them to write, record and play music.
Below is a detailed list of the items that were inside the trailer at the time it was stolen. The band is asking that anyone who works at or frequents pawn shops, music stores and other establishments of the like where this equipment might try to be sold be on the lookout for their equipment. Also look for the equipment at other venues such as other artists' shows.
The list is extensive, but any one piece may help in finding the rest of the equipment. If any equipment is found, please contact the Detroit Police or The Pullman Strike at the contact information provided below.
Adam Melberth Cell Phone: (608) 346-7334 E-mail: amelberth@gmail.com
The Pullman Strike is extremely thankful for any effort and assistance put forth to help recover the stolen equipment.
Thank you.

Bird's eye maple neck, piezo pickup, standard bridge, 3 knobs, volume knob was removed for easier use. It's a pretty rare guitar, there is a black sticker right below the bridge which says "Ashba" in cool graphics. I support a wife and kid and I really don't have the money to replace the guitar. Thanks, Eric

STOLEN Left Handed Fender Japanese P Bass Lake Placid Blue Gotoh Tuners Mint Green Pickguard
Contact: dave-edwards @ clearwire.net
This is a RARE LEFT HANDED FENDER JAPAN PRECISION BASS in LAKE PLACID BLUE, maybe one or two like it in The U.S.! Stolen from my home in Reno, Nevada on 10/25/07
I purchased this bass from The Ishibashi Corp. in Japan, in August 2007. I didn't write down the serial #. I DO have the invoice, and have e-mailed them a request to see if the serial is on file. I have upgraded this bass with Gotoh reverse wind tuners, and an allthread bridge like on the American re-issues. It has also had Fender American 250k pots, and a Switchcraft jack installed. The clincher here to identify it as mine- even munus a serial #- I am a luthier/guitar repairman. I fabricated a mint green pickguard for it. You can't get one, I know. It has a full tin vintage type grounding plate underneath it, with a statement something like- "Ishibashi p-bass mint green guard fabricated by owner Dave Edwards" with a date-- written in Sharpie. Not another bass like it, I'd say! I hope it turns up, I'd like to have it back! There is a reward offered, but I'm a working musician, and don't have much....I'll be glad to negotiate repair work in exchange plus cash.

STOLEN CB Glockenspiel, Ghanian Gyil Wood Bars, Mallets, Casiotone 1000P
Contact: brittany.anjou @ gmail.com
These instruments were stolen from my car on White and Varet. I'm so sorry my college car sucks and is easy to break into, and I'm sorry I was too friggin tired to take them out of my car after driving across the country and crashing on my friend's couch without moving the truckload of heavy instruments up her 5 story loft before taking a nap and dying after driving straight to bushwick from Chicago. If you find them, I will give you a reward, no questions asked. They were stolen from the trunk of my car on 10/14, and the latter items on 10/23.
40 pairs of vibraphone mallets, by pro mark, stefon harris model. 20 of them are gray, 20 are red mallets.
a 2.5 octave CB glockenspiel, in a case, with a stand, mallets, ghanaian shakers, and a patch cable.
Ghanaian Gyil wood bars, 14 bars strung together, ghanaian rosewood, authentic from ghana.
Casiotone 1000P vintage tone bank, nice new condition, perfect arpeggiator. Music stand, cables, camera, and clothes. 2 suitcases, with night mouthguard in one and prescription meds in other. Please give it back. Your teeth wont fit my guard, and you don't need my meds. I DO. Your not going to sell them. You've just been blessed with the karmic asshole curse. forever. Unless someone can redeem you and bring me my instruments back. You don't need pitched percussion instruments either, I DO. YOU ARE A THIEF, NOT A XYLOPHONIST. FUCK YOU.
Whoever stole my stuff, you suck. Please give it back. If you see anyone handling these items, please hit me up, I will appreciate you for LIFE.

STOLEN Emerald Green Parker Fly Guitar, Marshall Amp, Boss GT3, TL Audio Tube Mic Preamp, Alesis Quadra Synth Plus Piano, Violin w/ pearl inlay flower, plus more studio gear.
Contact: IMTreble @ snakebite.com
I am looking for the following equipment which belongs to me. I've been told that it was either donated or sold by an old lady in San Jose or a guy in Sunnyvale sometime around November or December 2006 or just after.
All of this equipment is STOLEN PROPERTY, which legally belongs to me and I am willing to negotiate and reimburse payment for any or all of it's safe return!!
Emerald Green Parker Fly Deluxe - had a black and white zebra strap and was in a soft guitar case w/wammie bar, glass slide and capo. Copy of the manual printed out was also in case. Guitar has (had) a pretty bad nick out of it from where my abusive ex tried to hit me with a mic stand and hit my parker instead.
- Small Marshall Amp
- Boss GT3
.. Really great free standing Rack on wheels with the following equipment:
- TL Audio Tube Mic Preamp ** This is a very rare item and very important to me - 3630 compressor - Studio Quad Effects - RA100 Amp - Mackie 1202vlz Mixer - had some stickers on it I think one was about being a motorcycle rider and voting - Berringer (I think) Patch bay I had put labels on it for my equipment - Headphone mixer
Alesis Quadra Synth Plus Piano had a key with a hole (abusive ex hit it with a tile knife) and had some intermitent problems with middle keys.
Violin w/ pearl inlay flower
Studio Projects C1 Microphone SM58 SM57
Clarinet - black, vintage and needed work
CUSTOM MADE CABLES WHICH HAVE MY NAME ON THEM - these should be easy to identify unless the name has been removed. If it has then there will likely be a sticky area on one end near the connector. Many different cables all custom made for me to fit my specific needs. The longer ones have a black tie attached to them for wrapping them.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! If you have seen ANY of this equipment or cables contact me IMMEDIATELY! I've been searching for it. Please help me locate these items of great value to me. NO QUESTIONS ASKED AS I KNOW WHO ORIGINALLY STOLE THE EQUIPMENT AND I AM JUST TRYING TO GET MY PROPERTY, ESPECIALLY MY INSTRUMENTS, BACK

Peavey Musician amp head - pretty old, may have duct tape residue on front peavey logo and the power supply cord (which is attached to the head) has a large, round yellow plug plug on the end of the cord 5. Peavey 2x15 speaker cabinet - old, one or two holes in the grill cloth, the front peavey logo has been removed, but there is an outline of dust around where it used to be. thanks for all your help! your website was a great point in the right direction toward handling this mess i really appreciate it. cheers,

STOLEN Japanese TELE Custom Paint Job SKY WITH CLOUDS, Lindy Fralin pickups, maple neck, clear pickguard Contact: sbrent @ freedomford.com My boyfriend had a Japanese Tele stolen in Norfolk, VA outside of the Lido Inn. It was his pride and joy! He had a custom paint job on it, which took months to come up with. It was a bright sky blue color, with white airbrushing that from far away looked like the sky with clouds on a clear day. It was absolutely beautiful! It had a clear pick guard, with custom Lindy Fralin pickups, maple colored neck. Since then, he has purchased some other guitars and had them custom painted, but nothing has satisfied him like the blue one did. There is a reward if anyone knows anything about this guitar. We reported it stolen to the police, and checked local pawn shops but we haven’t heard anything. It was in a black hard case and in the case were lots of personal mementos. There were pictures of his grandfather who has since passed away, pictures of me, pictures of his daughter, drawings that his daughter had made for him, and a few greeting cards that had been given to him over the years. Unfortunately, he has moved and lost the paperwork that had the serial number on it in the move. Please help! **Have A Great Day!**

STOLEN Gibson Les Paul mahogany pickguard, and white oak truss rod cover with his name "Dwight Johnson" engraved in it Contact:Doron Markowitz, D Guitars Miami, 305-682-3689 or 305-896-1811 Hey all, please keep an eye out for this Gibson Les Paul. It belongs to a customer of mine, and he is also a close, personal friend of mine. It is really one of a kind, with a mahogany pickguard, and white oak truss rod cover with his name "Dwight Johnson" engraved in it. It has 2 cream P90 pickups, has been refinished with semi-gloss light brown burst on top, and a flat brown stain on back. On the back of the body, you will notice a "D" routed into it about one inch in size. You can also notice the headstock was rebuilt. This guitar is obviously very personal to him, and is his baby. It was also in a brand new, black, aftermarket hardshell case w/plush interior. Please call me if you know of its whereabouts at 305-682-3689 or 305-896-1811. Or call Dwight at 786-488-8611. A reward will be offered. Thank you.
Yours truly,

STOLEN Yamaha P-120 stage piano serial # UAKH01093 and Seagull acoustic/electric guitar serial # 04393441 http://www.myspace.com/nathanielcarrollSTOLEN FROM NATHIENAL CARROLL Last week, someone broke my van window out and stole my gear. I am a solo performer from Springfield, MO, and play piano and guitar. I've toured the country several times over without any problems, only to have my piano and guitar stolen from my van in at my apartment! Here are the specs: Yamaha P-120 stage piano (silver body with cherry-wood finish on top...possibly "xoxo" in black electrical tape over the Yamaha logo on the front). The keyboard was in a black hardshell flight case made by Gator, with rolling wheels, four locks, and three carrying straps. The serial number for the Yamaha P-120 Stage Piano is UAKH01093 The guitar is an acoustic/electric "Seagull" brand (made in Canada) that has a bunch of tape on the bottom where the output jack is housed, a little bird drawn on the front body of the guitar, scratches and cracks all over the front, a brown leather strap taped and tied to it, and a stage pass sticker from a show I played at the Knitting Factory a few years ago on the bottom near the output jack. It has a TEAC brand soft/hard case that is khaki and black on the outside with one large pocket. The handle was completely ripped off the case, as it is still laying in my van. This case will only hold my guitar (or other Seagulls), so it will be fairly useless for other guitars. The serial number for the Seagull guitar is 04393441 Please help me find my stuff! If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of my stolen gear, I'll give you tons of free loot. If you have tons of loot, please consider sending a donation http://www.myspace.com/nathanielcarrollThank you! xoxo, nathaniel

THE JUNIORS GEAR STOLEN myspace.com/junior Our van, trailer, and all of our gear was stolen..
So, as most of you know, we hit the road the weekend of July 28 with Reel Big Fish. We had a great time in Corpus Christi, TX, and had a great show. After the show, meeting fans, and all that good stuff, we headed to Houston to spend the night. We had to be up the next morning, and drive 4 more hours to Dallas to meet up with Reel Big Fish for our Dallas show. Well, we rolled into Houston about 4am Sunday July 29. We went in to go to sleep for about 6 hours before we had to load up and head to Dallas. As we walked ou the next morning, I noticed the van was not where we left it. Adam walked out right behind me and said "Didn't we park the van there?".. Well, it was gone. So, we were stuck, vanless, trailerless, gearless, and in shock as to what had just happened. So, police came, took the info, and we had to get a rent car to come home. We are not down, nor will we be. This is just a minor setback, that will be resolved shortly. Our gear was not insured, because insurance companies will not insure band gear, because of this very reason. there are a few that will, but they are hard to find. More than anhything, it's the principle of the whoile thing. Thos of you that know us know that our amps were all custom made red, with a chrome cow head cut-out on the front. Our gear is very unique, so if you live in Houston and see it, please tell someone. We are a strong group of guys, and have been through more than most bands can ever imagine. We will overcome this, and very quickly. Our management, label, music company friends, and everyone else have been nothing but helpfull and understanding, and will stand behind us 100%. No gigs will be cancelled, nothing like that will happen. Just a bunch of dealing with insurance companies, and basically just the hassle of the whole thing. It sucks, and it's hard to beleive that someone can lay their head down at night knowing they took someones dreams, and hard work. We are honest guys, and will always be that way. We are normal hardworking guys that take this very seriously. We aren't in a band to hook up with groupies, or drink and do drugs. We're not into that. We play, we meet fans, we make new fans, and we rock the fans. That's it. If we were in the room with a bunch of hookers doing coke and gettin drunk then maybe I would think we deserved it, but we were just sleeping completely sober for 6 hours before we had to drive all day. It sucks, why us? But, I can honestly say, that God gave us a strength I didn't know we had. Non of us flew off the hook on a rampage. We just stayed calm. By the time we go home, the theme was "they can take our stuff, but they can;t take our hearts, our dreams, and our drive." On another note. This is the 2nd time all of our gear has been stolen in Houston.. See ya at the top. Kiley STOLEN LIST 1 - Turquoise Lone Star Strat (heas stickers and a metal mudflap girl on the front)
1 - Dean EVO Dragster guitar (black with flames)
1 - Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (Custom red paint. I painted it myself)
1 - Peavey 5150 4x12 guitar cab (Custom painted RED with a HUGE chrome cowhead cutout on the front)
1 - Mesa Boogie 8x10 bass cab (Custom painted RED with a HUGE chrome cowhead cutout on the front)
1 -Mesa Boogie Mpulse bass amp
2 - Ernie Ball Sub bass guitars (1 black & 1 turuoise. Insted of your regular guitar hooks, they have I-hooks)

THE RIVALS GEAR STOLEN http://www.myspace.com/rivals Our gear was stolen!!!! Help. Over the past 6 years, Rivals has had its ups and downs… sometimes, like in today's case, the lows are EXTREMELY low. At around 1pm today someone cut the lock off of our trailer in front of our studio and stole about $4,000 of our gear. Tom and I both lost a lot of our stuff, and I even lost my main guitar, a '92 custom Hohner Revelation that I have played at every Rivals show for over 5 years. It's one of my all-time favorite possessions and a key piece in my sound. This is a UNIQUE guitar and it would be easy to spot should someone try to sell it. Details of everything we lost is below. WE ARE OFFERING A SIGNIFICANT CASH REWARD FOR ANYONE WHO RETURNS ANY OF OUR GEAR. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. If you would like to help our cause, there are a few things you can do: 1. Forward this message to your friends. Mention the cash reward. Maybe someone knows something. Maybe someone has seen our gear, or is trying to sell it. 2. Buy a CD from our Web site All money from merch will go to replacing the lost gear in order to get us back to speed. http://www.rivals.ws3. Come to a show. The more friends that come out and support, the closer we can get to raising the money we need. The next one is March 1 @ the Caravan in San Jose. We are hurt by this incredible loss, especially because money cannot replace the sentimental value some of our gear carried. This small side step will not keep Rivals down and we will continue as strong as ever, very soon. Thank you for being a part of our family and all of us SINCERELY appreciate all of your efforts, however small. If you have ANY info or can help in any way, please call Zack at 408-710-5381, or email zack @ rivals.ws

STOLEN Martin D35 serial #403132
Location: Arvada, CA
Contact: riorider@earthlink.net
Stolen in a house burglary in 1983 from Arvada, CO, around Christmas. Arvada police report #83-45909.
Standard D35, no custom features, purchased from Flagstaff Music (AZ) in 1978. Used to have clear plastic 1/2"x1" label inside the body with "Flagstaff Music Co." and their phone number (I don't remember) on it. There was also one of these stickers on the back of the headstock, which I removed. While attempting to remove the sticky residue, it reacted with the finish, removing the finish in a rough 1/2" x 1" mark. I had that refinished - just the mark - but it was still clearly visible, vertically, on the back of the headstock about centered. That and the serial number would be the only identifying marks. Standard Martin black hardshell case with "M" logo.
Any info to this email address and thanks: riorider@earthlink.net
Thanks much,
Phil Brodersen

STOLEN White Fender Telecaster w/extra toggle, Black Fender Telecaster Serial # Z6134057, Black Fender MusicMaster Location: Tahuya, WA Contact: http://www.myspace.com/thedrewsLast Thursday night (4/24) someone broke into our house in Tahuya, WA, and stole 5 guitars (two of Andrew's favorite guitars and all of Jen's basses). 3 of these were distinctive enough you might recognize them if you see them: (1) - A white Fender Telecaster with a Seymour Duncan pickup and an extra toggle switch on the pick guard. There are 3 decals: On the front there is a circular decal with "THE DREWS" in black letters and a reddish colored EMP sticker. On the back there is a red, white, and blue Native American style picture of a longhorn. The E string side of the treble string anchor (on the head) has been broken off, but still holds the string. This guitar is a family heirloom of great sentimental value. (2) - A black Fender Stratocaster with a custom LR Baggs bridge and pickup. It also has an extra toggle switch on the pick guard. Serial # Z6134057 (3) - A black Fender Musicmaster three quarter size 4-string bass, with a notch along the 5th to 7th fret that occurred when it accidentally fell. If someone tries to sell you any of these, please buy them. We will reimburse. Or if you can't afford to buy them, please at least let us know where you saw them. Most likely they will be in the Seattle, Bremerton, Shelton, Tacoma, or Olympia area, but you never know...

STOLEN BC Rich Warlock Bass Burgandy w/Heiroglyphics Location: Indianapolis, IN Contact: silverwolf15@hotmail.com I just found your site, but don't know if you'd be able to help me. I loaned my BC Rich Warlock bass to a friend for him to learn on, and it and the Coffin Case wound up getting stolen when his apartment was broken into. Problem is, this was about 3 years ago, in mid-2005. Here are some pics and description, if you think there's any hope of it being recovered. Not sure of the year, but it's a 1980s model BC Rich Warlock 4-string bass (triangular headstock like the Bronze series). The original colour was lavender, which can still be seen in a couple spots at the edges of the fretboard and pickups. I've done over 11 hours of custom work on this bass, including re-painting the whole thing. The neck is black and the body is a deep metallic burgandy. All around the outside edge of the body and partway up the neck are heiroglyphics, passages from the Egyptian Book of the Dead. Behind the strings are the heiroglyphs for the Name of Ma'at, which are an ankh and a feather. On the back of the guitar is the Irish Gaelic phrase "Bona na Croin," which means "Neither Collar nor Crown." All of this detailing is done in gold. The Coffin case had a red lining and also had my strap in there, which was a fuzzy white leopard print. I don't think I had the references that I used when I was customising it, though I can't really remember. I don't have any documentation to prove it's mine, other than the pictures, as I bought it from a friend of an ex. I would dearly love to have this back, if it's at all possible. --- Pics of the stolen bass are on my site http://www.screamingstone.com~Kat Moran Indianapolis, IN

STOLEN Fender P-Bass Black w/white pckgrd mid-80's $500 REWARD
Location: Santa Rosa, CA
Contact: steveroybal@yahoo.com
My Fender P-Bass was stolen Friday night, june 20th from my car. It happened either while I was parked near the Hopmonk brewery in Sebastopol after the Trailer Park Rangers/ Baby Seal Club show, or in my driveway on Ripley St. in Santa Rosa afterward. The bass is a black, mid '80's era Fender Precision bass. Black, with white pick guard. It has a sparkly kitty sticker, and a very small records sticker on it. It also has some finish missing down to bare wood on one hip near the rear strap peg. If anyone has any info, I would really appreciate it. I have been playing locally and touring with this bass for over 15 years. Needless to say, it has tremendous sentimental value. I am willing to offer a reward, no questions asked for it's safe return...
Thanks! ___________
If you are the person or know the person that took this guitar, this is your chance to make A LOT of cash (more that you could sell the guitar for) by arranging to return it. THE REWARD OFFERED IS $500. We will agree to any arrangement you would like in order to get you the reward and protect your identity. WE JUST WANT THE GUITAR BACK. Please reply to this posting if you have the guitar or any information.

Contact screamingstone @ gmail DOT com with any info STOLEN Epiphone Acoustic Custom Artwork Location: Austin, TX My guitar, originally a cheap Epiphone named Emily, was in the process of having artwork done on it when it was stolen along with the hardshell case from an Austin apartment complex last friday. Case had an autographed sticker by Dar Williams that said "To Isaac - Best". The post I've been circulating amongst friends is below with pictures: No serial but I do have pictures included "To those of you who don't know, my mother died a week and a half ago. The night that she died, I let a local artist borrow my guitar to decorate it. The next morning I found out, so I had to leave town to arrange funeral things and take care of my father. The artist worked diligently throughout the week and was almost finished a week later, on the day of my mother's interment, when the guitar was stolen from outside an apartment as he rushed in to use a phone. I am offering $50, no questions asked, for the guitar or information leading to the recovery of the guitar. Right now, I have no guitar and am not happy with this turn of events. Much of the symbolism on the guitar is intentional or unintentional memorials to my recently departed mother, and the guitar itself is sentimental."

STOLEN Ernie Ball Stingray Bass Left Handed #000222 REWARD Location: detroit, MI HI ..i had my ernie ball bass stolen about a few years ago. I paid 1200 for it and miss it. The thing that makes it so special is its left handed. I got pics and filed a police report. But im sure you know thats the least of cops worries. The SN is 000222...real easy to remember...i think there might of been a L at the end of that also. The model is "stingray" and color is the honey burst....i belive they called it. Its a 4 string also. It was stolen from the Det. area. REWARD generous reward if recovered, or any info leading to recovery.

STOLEN Vintage Gibson Les Paul Gold Top, circa early 70's REWARD $250 Location: Seattle, WA Vintage Gibson Les Paul Gold Top, circa early 70's Seymour Duncan pick ups, which are non-standard for this guitar I have pictures of identifying marks, extremely detailed. My work space was burglarized last evening (09/04/08) in Georgetown, and the jerks stole two things: one guitar that I barely shed a tear over and one guitar that means the world to me. I don't have to tell another musician how upset I am to have had my Goldtop, which I have owned for OVER TWENTY YEARS taken from me. They could have taken anything else, everything else, and I wouldn't have cared. I am offering a reward for any information that leads to its recovery. Stolen from 6100 block of 4th Avenue South, Seattle, WA

STOLEN Peavey Fury Bass Serial # 05392484 Location: Denver, CO My bass guitar that I have owned and played for 16 years was stolen from me on Saturday August 30th when I was loading out after a show in Denver, Colorado. She was in a gig bag when stolen. Its a soft black leather bass case with two back straps. It has two fake guitars inside of it, one is red and the other is a flying v. Those guitars are images pasted onto foam poster board professionally and cut to the shape of the guitars. They have guitar straps attached to them, one is blue and white, the other strap is just a black boa. Also inside is a music folder covered in stickers with song lyrics and a set list from the show I played that day. Some of the stickers on the folder: "employees must wipe ass", luchagores, magic cyclops, and Nerve magazine. Plus a sticker of a hand flipping one off. Large Cash Reward for return. Specs on bass: 4-string one pickup Peavey Fury bass guitar (1990 series) Serial number on bass: 05392484 has a scratched up lavender finish with red peeking through EYE CATCHER:dice tuning and volume knobs stickers of a dog taking a piss and 5150 green sticker with letter B up by tuning forks EYE CATCHER back of bass has an anarchy sign etched into the paint under that it says sam and fuct EYE CATCHER custom locking straps drilled into the bass and attached to a middle eastern looking bass strap that has locking straps on it too. brand new tuning forks. Just a public thanks to Premier Guitar Magazine for doing an article on The Stolen Music Instrument Recovery Project in the October issue. The more musicians who know about the Project, the better chance we have at getting the stolen instruments back to the musicians.

STOLEN Kay 3/4 size upright bass, amp and cab

STOLEN Kay 3/4 size upright bass, Acoustic Image Clarus II Amp, Ampeg 110H bass spkr. cabinet (ser. # BTND040134), Carvin AG100D Acoustic Gt./Keybd. amp. (ser. # OC45903)
Location: Santa Barbara, CA
Reward: $300 for bass/$100 for Acoustic Image amp./$50 each for Ampeg & Carvin
On 10/6/08 sometime between 2:00-5:30 p.m. my double bass and 2 amplifier rigs were stolen from the stage of the Free Methodist Church, 1435 Cliff Dr., Santa Barbara. I would appreciate it if I can recover the much valued tools of my trade (especially the bass, as it has great sentimental value as well) Here are the descriptions:
KAY 3/4 SIZE DOUBLE BASS: circa 1950’s, 4 string, violin corners, ebony fingerboard, adjustable bridge, light brown-tan finish (probably was blonder in early years) rather worn-esp. on body by fingerboard where thumb & fingers follow through (I had made an effort to cover this up with a bee propolis preparation).
PERMANENT FEATURES: It has some unique modifications: the original brass tuning keys mounted on matching Tyrollean style plates have been replaced by individual nickel plated tuners mounted on custom cut mahogany veneer plates that don’t exactly match the rest of the wood either in color or grain.
Also, the back and belly have had their edges sanded down to be level with the binding around the body EXCEPT in the ‘C’ bout (middle bout) where the edges still protrude past the binding. As a “signature” to this customizing, I took a 3 corner file and made the rounded notches in the f-holes into sharp points.
VARIABLE FEATURES: Underwood pickup installed, and I had mounted a Countryman Isomax condenser mic in the bridge with a “X” suspension mount made of black elastic hair ties. Also, the mic’s XLR connector is lashed to the tailpiece with black elastic hair ties. I also had a bow quiver mounted uniquely to the tailpiece, but these things would be easy to remove. The tuning keys and sanded edges you couldn’t hide. One more thing: I had made an endpin out of a thick dowel rod painted black that was nonadjustable.
GLASSER FIBERGLASS BOW: French style, 45+ years old, black frog, silver grip with black rubber top, chocolate brown paint, standard hair, well worn (gift from my dad)
TKL NYLON BASS BAG: black, chrome hardware, bow pocket on front, zippered utility pouch on lower front, double ‘D’ rings on back to adjust straps. One unique feature: I had bolted a 3” round rubber foot to the bottom to protect the zipper from wear. *Also, a thief might never notice, but in the toe of the bow pocket is another, smaller, black dowel rod end pin*
ACOUSTIC IMAGE BASS AMP: Clarus II model-2 inputs (1/4” & XLR) These units are not available in most mainstream music stores, bi-level, and are about the size of a cigar box, with a handle on top level and the controls on the lower. The thief didn’t take the padded bag that goes with it. The amp's s/n will be either 4C 0077, 4C 0078 or 4C 0079
AMPEG 110H SPKR. CAB (ser. # BTND040134): black ‘fuzzy’ covering, about 16” cubical with a slightly rounded-up face. 10” woofer & 2” tweeter inside. Grayish metal grille plate with the Ampeg logo on front, variable tweeter control dial on back.
CARVIN AG100D GT./KEYBD. AMP (ser. #OC45903) : 12” woofer & 2” horn. 3 channels w/ 5 band graphic EQ. These units are most distinctive for their forest green vinyl covering.

Location: Chicago, IL Reward: There is definitely a reward. I'm not 100% sure what it would be, because it would depend on what is recovered, but it would definitely be worth it. Items were stolen in Chicago, Illinois. More specifically the Lincoln park area. 3 guitars: 1. Custom Purple Warmoth Telecaster w/ kaoss touchpad. 2. White/white PG and maple neck mexican strat. I do not have the serial. 3. Black Epiphone LP Junior. I'm not very concerned about getting this back. Amp: Egnater Mod 50. Still waiting on the serial from egnater. Cab: Avatar 2x12 Vintage style cab with greenbacks Rack: Gator 8 space rack TC Electronics G-major 2 Serial: 3440051 Rocktron Patchmate Loop 8 Digitech whammy IV BYOC tubescreamer ZVEX Vexter Fuzz factory Danelectro Fish n Chips Phase 90 Boss ph-2 boss rv-3 Guitars: 1.Warmoth Custom Tele is purple with a mirror pickguard. It has a touchpad from a korg kaoss pad behind the bridge of the guitar. On the headstock in mirror it says "fensel" instead of fender, but it is in the Fender font. I want this back the most out of anything because I made it myself. 2. White fender strat. It has black saddles (graphite), the SCN pickups from the american deluxe, and locking tuners that are in brushed aluminum, not chrome. It also has a trem setter in the trem cavity. Amp: The mod 50 is loaded with the VX and SL2 modules. The egnater logo is ripped off the front, and it has hot glue remnants on the front grille. These are the items I want back the most, and there is definitely a reward. I'm not 100% sure what it would be, because it would depend on what is recovered, but it would definitely be worth it.
