Is there a list of session players by state, that one can pick from? Also what about vocals? Same question.

What is the going rate for players these days.

Are these folks in a union, non-union?

Is there a form that I should draft up for session players, to work in my studio? Works for hire?

Last, do these folks have clips of their work, could I ask for some proof of their talant? I just don't want to be burned by a so called artist.

Contacting the local M.U. is probably your best way to go to find session players. As far as the "going" rate, I know in Nashville it's $50 per song per player.

In the USA typically they are all union, and the going rate is set by the local. Here's a link to get you started in your search:
