Am looking for a great free drum beat generator. I like fruity loops a lot - but you can't save the tracks in the demo version. I think there must be some freeware program out there.

Unless you're proficient with Linux, you'll not find a "free" beat generator that's worth having.

What's your issue with spending $69 for the base model FruityLoops?

Well... if you truly want something free that CAN do quite a bit. but does require some work, then check out the "Hammerhead Rythm Station."

There are lots of additional plug-in sounds available and you can make a decent drum loop or more with it, which can be saved as a WAV and imported into your favorite digital recording software.
