R U Chillin'?

Just curious... We're in the middle of an intense heat wave here on the East Coast. I'm sittin' in my crib, without air conditioning, but I'm chillin'. There's a war flareing up in the Middle East. I'm chillin'. The music business is going through some monumental changes. Still: chillin'. We got a boob in the White House... chillin'. Global warming is getting worse... Pollution on the increase... ...chillin'. Numark bought Alesis, and Gemini bought KRK...and still, chill. We had a nuclear flamewar on Chris' board over the compilation CD...still completely chill. Are you chillin'? What do you do to chill? E

Also heard some new music I hadn't heard about in the "syryp" culture....disturbing, but chillin. My next door neighbor's wife was working in her garden wearing a bikini.....oh my God...oh so chillin.....

With my luck, it'd be the neighbor across the street's 300 lb. wife, who's 75 years old, wearing a bikini...D'OH! Actually though, my next door neighbor's wife is a looker. But she doesn't work outside in a bikini. C'est la vie.

Just put in a Samsung 1100 BTU ductless split system air conditioner. My Bro works for a distributor so I got it at cost, put it in myself. It's more than what I need BTU wise until I have a room full of clients. Keeps all the gear cool. It's very nice, remote t-stat, quiet. I can even run it while tracking.

When I sit on the floor my two Welsh Corgis rest their heads on my lap, when the girlfriend gives me a backrub, when I sit down to a meal of fresh tomatoes and sweet corn from the Farmer's market, sometimes just sittin' pickin my nose, that's how I chill.

Curvey, I'm outta town, and it's just as hot as Philly, only, the humidity (high 70%s) brings out my stupidity. I'm in the hotel room 18 hrs a day with the AC set @ 70 degrees, longing for fall, and as soon as fall hits, I'll be missing summer! 18hrs a day is a lot of chill time, so I'm catching up on some paperwork and the likes. Drew out....

Went to an Emmylou Harris concert... Even though the show was outdoors and at night, it was probably still about 90 degrees and humid as heck. On one song, the guitarist's amp blew up from the heat... I didn't see or hear the amp blow up -- all I saw was a big puff of smoke over by the drummer, and I assumed he was lighting one up between songs!

Yo Z, I clicked on the webcam, and my browser crashed while your page was loading. I caught a brief glimpse of you with a white wine (?) in your hand, thinking about something. Cool looking studio, bro.
To chill I...Go to a trendy coffee shop I know teaming with pretty Japanese girls!
I like that kind of chillin! Kon ichi wa, baby? E

Hotter than hell here too. Of course, that's just life as usual for New Orleans in August. People don't let it slow them down here. Go out to the clubs and it's sweaty bodies rubbing all over each other. You're just in the wrong city Curve. After the sweaty bodies I can head home to the air conditioned studio. If that's not enough, there's always the pool right out the door. jw

I'm sitting here reading your post with a Welsh Corgi on my feet and...just finished having fresh tomatoes and sweet corn from the farmer down the road. However, this Corgi, Boomer, is on my feet so he knows exactly when I move. It was so hot here in Mich., for a couple of days I was gettin' a "dew" warning (humidity too high to run) on one of my ADAT's. -That's never happened before! So, I couldn't track or mix. I was an ornary bastard, for sure. stay cool, Hippie
In two days, it won't matter.
I sit in my in my air conditioned studio with a bed(bedroom) and make monumentaly, extra Phat Beats. Of all flavors and assortments! JLB
A most excellent way to chill, in my most humble opinion! Substitute a dinky little plastic fan for the AC, and that's exactly what I'm doing pretty much every day this summer. I just pretend I'm in Morocco or shumptin'. Several people I know have offered to give me air conditioners they're not using, out of pity, but I refuse. I have this theory that the tropical climate conditions add a kind of "jungle heat" to my tracks. Just one more thing I luv about recording digitally: one needn't worry about analog tapes turning into rubber bands in the summer time. Still quite chill... E

Did some serious chillin' this weekend. I did no TASCAM work at all, though I was reminded of my real job many times while tracking a new tune on the MX-2424 I brought home and installed on Friday night. Nothing like a little new gear to help get the creative juices flowing again. Then I played with my kid, hung out and had beers and played video games with my neighbor. Did a small amount of household work, but blew off washing my car which looks like total shit. So, it's not too hot in L.A....like, upper '80s or even lower near the beach where I live. But still, "chill" is a state of mind that's not always related to temperature...know what I mean, Curve? - Jeff
