source for case foam?

I have expanded my light show and have bought some plastic rolling trunks to store them.

 

Need foam - anyone have a good affordable source?

See if there's a furniture upholsterer nearby. There's a place by me that has huge blocks that they cut to whatever size you want. If you can get away with stuff that's only a few inches thick, and less dense, Jo-Anne Fabric (and probably other similar stores) carry various sizes.

Here in Albuquerque, we have Rio Grande Foam. I just googled Foam padding and voila. I wouldn't have thought there'd be a place that just sold FOAM, but here in ABQ, there is. If there's one here.....there HAS to be one where you are!

 

And just to give you a heads up: I bought a 6x6 slab of 2" foam for $90. And I get a LIFETIME of free cuts on that one piece of foam.

And that was a LOT cheaper than Joanne Fabrics (which I have used).

I used some foam from computer boxes (from work). There were two types, one was a bit scratchy. Just whatever you get make sure it's safe with the stuff you are putting with it (obviously). I gather some types of foam would not be good to pair with electronic stuff--my case was for a keyboard so I had to be careful.

TCH Hardware , maybe? I've never purchased anything from them but they are pretty well-stocked and the prices seem reasonable.
