Whats a ringtone?

Spammers have got to be the absolute stupidest people on the face of the planet. I don't even know how anyone that idiotic could possibly manage to survive. Do they really think that by coming in here and annoying the crap out of us that they could possibly convince anyone to buy anything from them? It would be interesting to know what kind of completely brainless moron came up with that idea. Idiots.

The thinking is, if they spam 10,000 people and two or three buy something, then they won. It's a saturation technique. The idiots are the ones that fall for it.

A ringtone is what they call those irritating little jingles and "music clips" and sound effects, etc. that people use on their cellphones...so when they get a call it plays a couple of measures of synthesized Pachelbel's Canon in D or something even more annoying.

But I don't think anyone ever does fall for it, do they? I mean is any human really that dumb? If they do, they deserve it.

That's the problem. There are two or three buyers for every onslaught.

Hah, for a microsecond there upon reading the subject-title, my initial thoughts ran to Polytone amps and ring-modulators! I was thinking, "Gee, how often do jazz guys with Polytones get down with freaky-sick ring-modulation gargle-zoingks?" 'Course, I meant "freaky-sick" in the best of ways! What a letdown, that it was just some Spam burning, woulda been cool if it was what I first thought...

Ah, but you were too fortunate for that to be! I agree, the mental prowess of the sasquai must be pretty sharp indeed, to have eluded capture all these years. Yer an A-1 bunch! (The hunters and trackers haven't yet figured out that the sound of an electric guitar wailing away in the distant groves might lead them to a Bigfoot kegger... )

That's why I play nylon strings....it doesn't carry so far.

I have it on good authority- Monty Python, "I'm A Lumberjack"- that lumberjacks like nylons, too. I didn't know they were so big on classical guitar!
