While changing strings on the Standard P-Bass I noticed the tuner for the A string was harder to turn than the rest. Is the Phillips head screw/bolt on the back where the gear is for adjusting tension? Searched here and Fender's site with no results.
Update:
Not that I'm impatient or anything, but decided to loosen it and see what happens. Apparently the gears weren't lined up well, so when the bolt was loose (also took the string tension off that tuning peg) I turned it a few times and let things settle into place. Tightened the bolt back up and it is now
much better.

I was going to delete this, but maybe someone else has the same problem with theirs. It worked for me anyway.
