Just got this loop station given to me and I can't work out how many loops can be played back at the same time. Can anyone help?

I am wanting to basically build up a 'wall' of sound by recording loops and playing back with them - how many can be played simultaneously?

I believe there is a limit of like sixiteen, im not exactly sure, but honestly recording a whole wall of sound most of the time when I have tried that it sounds real bad. I generally use the looper to solo over a riff, or to lay down soloing ideas.
