Today I decided to experiment and
I screwed some 1/8 Luan thin plywood to the building board ceiling "about 45% coverage" just to see
but the room is still too dead...

maybe the 1/8 plywood is not tick enough ?

what I should do at this point?

1) more coverage of 1/8 luan plywood
2) switch to thicker 1/4 plywood or similar.
3) Leave the ceiling the way it is and add 6 or 8 pound density mineral fiber bass traps on all the corners I can afford and forget about reverberation time for now?
4) forget about the reverberation time for ever and cover the entire ceiling with 12" tick fluffy fiberglass and see if the room improove
5) cover the entire ceiling with new drywall and then experiment again with my Rominator foam Kit?

please help!
Simone

Simone,

At this point it's really hard to know what else to suggest. But here's a thought: If you purchased an Auralex kit, you are entitled to advice from them. You should email them your specific questions, or use their support forum over at Recording.org:

Ethan , I got the foam long time ago, sorry about asking so many questions, I understand.

also...
trust me, you receive advice analysis etc. only before purchasing the product, not after...
the "after" advice it's always the same...too look for an acoustic consultant.
the acoustic consultant will tell you that the foam smell like hell, is fire hazard, looks ugly and doesn't work + will ask you at list $160 x hour , 6 hours minimum!
then what you do?
you teach me please....

I personally end up posting on forums and be so scare about everything I do instead playing music.

take care
Simon

seriously, "after" they don't care!
You don't think this is an injustice? I'm not a victim of some kind of injustice?
Why taking advantage of a sincere musician that is just trying to realize his dream? Why charging so much money (gigs money!)for something that doesn't work, smell, is fire hazard, look ugly as hell and cannot be returned after been glued to the walls with that horrific Tubetek ?
Why this is happening?
Why every where you go you find this "injustice" in the music stores?

take care
Simon.

Simon,

I was not saying that such treatment is acceptable! Again, I take all support requests seriously, and everyone who buys from my company (or buys the software that I sell personally) is taken care of and answered promptly.
