Hi,
can anyone tell me if its possible to fit a set of noisless pickups from an American Deluxe Jazz to a MIM standard if the pots and electronics are removed from deluxe units? Would this be a reasonable upgrade as I am wanting to keep the bass with all fender parts,
or would a set of custom shop 60's be a better option to replace the standard ones?
I can pick up the deluxe pups at a good price.
Thanks ,
Aussiebass..

Sorry, aussiebass, I don't know the answer to your question. Hard for me to believe that nobody here does! Folks? Can anybody help this guy out?

It used to be, and may still be true, that the pickup dimensions were slightly different between the Mexi jazz basses and the US jazz basses.

Measure your pickups in the MIM and ask Fender for pickup dimensions of the models you're interested in.

Peace.

Be sure to measure like Sweet Willie suggested. I have run into several different sizes in Jazz pups. The P bass size seems to be standard but Jazz is a liitle different.
But, that would be a nice up-grade to the US Fender noiseless pups.

I wish my neighbor had noiseless pups.

The barking wakes me up at night.

No, seriously, read the above posts..and measure carefully...all Fenders do not have the same dimensions.
