I've been meaning to do this for a while, but I simply haven't had the time.

I have a bunch of stuff that I just cannot throw out because there's nothing wrong with it. BUT I also have absolutely no need for it. I can't sell this stuff, so I'd like to give it to any Lowdowners who need it. All I ask is that you mail me 3 bucks to cover shipping. It obviously will not cover shipping on most of these items, but it would mean a minimal commitment before saying "I'll take that off your hands". I won't even wait for the 3 bucks before I send out the items...I trust ya!

Anyone else who wants to join in this thread and give stuff away, feel free.

1) 1 gigbag down, two to go. I have 32 Washburn gigbags. They will fit a Jazz or Precision, but they have absolutely NO padding to them whatsoever. The only purpose they would serve would be as anti-dust and anti-scratch devices. It's a half step up from just chucking the bass into your car. But they ARE new. \:\)

2) Tuner goes to Rocky. I have a Korg GA-30 guitar and bass tuner. Perfect condition. Google for details. I am in tuner overkill and it's like having too many clock in one room. Please help me by getting this out of my sight.

3) One pile gone. I have about 40 or 50 odd bass strings, all new. I sold off the ones that would make logical sets, so these are one offs in odd gauges and textures (for example, 3 of the 4 tapewound Fenders to make a set) I've grouped them into two piles by major brand.

4)Gone. I have a 1 in/1 out USB MIDI interface made by M-Audio called the Uno. This is actually worth some money, so PLEASE only request this if you really need it.

There's more, but it's 3:30am...

Nine, wattup with the Amy Winehouse sig? No link. Exactly how does one end up with 50 odd bass strings?

Amy Winehouse's hit.

I started with 300+ strings. I bought one of those Dean Markley wooden boxes that all music stores have with a bunch of single bass and guitar strings in them from a store going out of business.

You have a valid point.

I picked up Back to Black last week. This kid is really something.

She's a ticking timebomb full of Everclear. I'm just enjoying the ride while it lasts.

I "discovered" her when I saw a clip of her making an absolute fool out of herself singing "Beat It" on the Charlotte Church show. I'm glad I didn't just click away.

Her vocal delivery is spine tingling, she's so far behind the beat that I dig my nails into my palms.

I watched her on a special on the BBC the other night.

She's terrific, but is a little 'unpredictable'.

She hurried the last notes on a few songs - it was noticable.

At the end, she didn't have the grace to accept the plaudits of the audience - she walked straight off the stage. I believe she has personal 'issues'.

Having said that, don't think that I'm putting her down - I think she's a tremendous talent that needs proper mentoring, then she'll be truly great. I hope she gets it.

I might be interested in one of the gigbags, if there are any left.
My Jazz bass needs a lighter get-around-town outfit.

Peace,

Very nice of you.

I took a fast look at Amy W. Sadly, I've been going backwards rather than forwards in my music lately (just bought Bloodrock 2 and The Chambers Brothers "Time Has Come Today" - more in a future post). I will investigate further.

I probably wouldn't take that evil bass - it belongs with someone who would appreciate it. The thought of it makes me want to order my own Nord-fish.

I got turned on to Amy Winehouse as a result of 09's sig. She is making some of the most original music, in a retro sorta way. And that Charlotte Church duet is hilarious. Charlotte's sly reactions are the best.
