Hi Everyone,
For those who donīt know, I live in Buenos Aires Argentina, and here everything is too expensive and hard to find, umm..
I am planning to build some corner bass traps. As rigid fiberglass is so expensive here, I came up with the following idea..
Just in case thereīs any trouble with the image, Iīll explain..
I plan to make a "layered" bass trap, across 24" inches of the corner between walls, 6" inch thick multilayer.
1) First Layer, the highest density fiberglass I could get
100kg/m3 (Sorry, Iīm on metric). I guess itīs just a bit over 6pcf. This layer is only manufactured in 20mm ( about 0.8")
2) Second layer, a less dense fiberglass, much thicker though..
50Kg/m3, 70mm (roughly 3pcf, 2.7")
3) Third layer: (I need special feed back on this one, please!)
As the 2 first layers are so expensive for me, and just add 3.5" (90mm) together, I wass thinking of getting fluffy fiberglass, make a frame (wood and metalic "mosquito" wire mesh) and compress as much fluffy fiber in there, to complete my 6" total (3 layer summed). What do you think about this? Itīs a nonsense?
Should I forget about the wire mesh and just stuff the fluffy fiberglass in the air gap between the rigid panel and the wall corner?
Any idea?
I would really aprreciate your help guys,
thanks in advance
Best Regards
