THIS IS SOOOOO COOL!  Please welcome to the world, Adriana Tegan McKenzie! Born 5.10.03 at 8:25PM Weighing in @ 6 lbs 12 ounces And an absolute SWEETHEART...Pics will be posted shortly -promise.Delivery was fast and flawless. I've been through this twice now. Once with a female doctor and now with a midwife... The Doctor did great, but hands down that midwife was fantastic. If you're in the 'market', it's worth looking into. Mom is doing great. She amazes me. Both Mom and daughter will be home tomorrow. Our 2 yr old son, Ian is doing fine -but a little confused about this... 'Where is mommy, and why is it I see her with this bald baby lately?' I'm helping him adjust...Pray for me...  As for myself... My feet hurt, and I'm really tired, but I can't seem to sleep -go figure... I appoligize that I can't pass cigars out to allah ya'z, so I went to the trouble to bring you the next best thing: These are some fine Cuban cigars. Feel free to put your lips up to your monitor and enjoy one on me!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!  That's great! I also strongly recommend the use of a midwife. They're amazing. Both of my sons were born with midwives, the second one at home!

Congratulations!!! What a special pre-MOTHER's day gift. Babies are adorable, and big brother's need to be included in the reception party. Make sure to help Mom out as much as possible and divide time between the two siblings as equally as absolutely possible. My son was 18 months old when my daughter was born. I used to hold him on my lap while securing my daughter on his lap; I'd allow him to hold her bottle for her to be a part of the process. It makes acceptance a lot easier when the older feels that he's part of the plan. Good Luck

I hope your little girl wraps you around your little finger as much as mine did (and does) to me. Boys are wonderful, (I have 2 sons) but there's just something special about a daughter. All the happiness to you and your wife.

Wonderful news! Congrats! My daughter was born at home, with a midwife. I must say, it was an eye-opening experience - and quite wonderful! I got to hold Kaitlin almost immediately after she came out, and I was so happy I cried on the spot. My son was born at the hospital - our circumstances were different at the time - and although they did a decent job it was more difficult. We'll have to see about the new one. BTW - encouraging appropriate involvement from Kaitlin, as well as emphasising her "growing up" AND making sure to give her some special time too, helped to minimize the feelings of jealousy. Best to you & your whole family!

Congrats Super 8!!! That's so cool that she was born with a midwife. I have a lot of friends who've gone that route and all have had wonderful experiences. One friend of mine has two daughters who were both born at home with a midwife. When the second was born, the first was 2 years old. The whole family was there for the birth of the second baby and when she came out, big sis just spontaneously started singing "Happy Birthday!" It was amazing! To this day the parents don't know whether she actually knew that it was her sister's REAL BIRTHDAY, but we think she did. And yeah, involving the older siblings in the care of the baby really helps. This same big sis actually fancied herself a better mommy than Mommy. I'd be visiting the house and the older daughter would interrupt a conversation to say sternly: "Mommy! The baby really needs a bath!" Or "Her diaper's wet, and you didn't even know!" LOL... Congrats again.
