I know this probably sounds like a stupid question but I used Gorilla Tape on the edges of my frames to help hold the polyester batting to the backs and sides of the panels and just to add a little extra strength. (Gorilla Tape is like duct tape on steriods). I then wrapped the traps in uncolored Muslin fabric which is great to work with. The only problem now is that I can see the gorilla tape through the muslin and it makes the traps not look as nice.
Is there a way I can use some kind of DYE or something to darken the muslin after the traps are built? I was wondering is I took some dye and mixed it up and applied it lightly to the traps with a light brush if that would work. I'm assuming that dye would still let the fabric breathe. Any ideas??

I worked with muslin for my DIY traps. Mine were simple broadband (polyester + muslin + bubbagump hanging method), but I'm actually replacing them with ReadyTraps now for the same reason you're having trouble: it can be difficult to get these DIY projects to look as professional as a pro's job would.

For your situation, I would not recommend dying the muslin at all at all. It will most likely not go on evenly and you will have a worst problem than when you started. Additionally, it may clog the 'airy' nature of the fabric and start reflecting high frequencies.

A better option would be to find a way to remove the gorilla tape from under the muslin or tape over the gorilla tape with a basic 1-2" wide off-white masking tape that should camouflage it quite well.

If you post a picture of how you did your traps and the Gorilla Taping, I'm sure other suggestions, if you need them, will be more immediately apparent.

Thanks for your input. I'm also having a little trouble getting the 2x4' traps to hang right in the lateral corners. Once I get them all up if they work and make the room sound like I need it to then I'll live with the way they look. Thanks again for your input.

If you're willing to pull the muslin off before dying, then it's easy using RIT Dye. If not, then I'd recommend just putting on another layer dyed to your color.

To hang the lateral ones, there are a few methods. You can use 2 hooks and 2 wires for each one (hang a short and long wire corner to corner on each).

You can use a couple of hooks IN the corner and a stiff spring.

You can hang them from hooks on the ceiling with eyes in the absorber (hangs parallel to wall), then pivot the bottom to the wall and use a latch to hold in place.

I'm sure thare are a hundred other methods - those I know work well for framed absorbers.

I got them up ok. I used the plastic ties which are actually nylon and pretty strong. On two of the traps that are in horizontal corners I also screwed a piece of oak to the wall below the trap so it could help bear some of the stress. It seems to have worked well.
