First of all I cant tell you how glad I am to have found this website! Well you commented on my original sketch and I have made a better one with some minor changes. I am going to hang the doors on that closet, which before was just open.

My Room diagram

Questions are in the diagram. But I will restate here.
1. Does the inside of the closet need to be treated?
2. Does window need to be treated or will blinds reduce the bouncing back and forth?
3. My corners either have some obstruction (door, closet, furniture) where do I put bass traps?
4. I only have three walls to chose from to place my 2 near field DAW and subwoofer. Where should I put it?
5. Does sub need to be symmetrically centered?

Thanks if you can help.

Not if the door is rigid enough to reflect bass waves. Is the sliding door regular wood? If so, it will reflect bass so there's little value in treating inside the closet.

It depends on where you and the speakers are in relation to the window. If it's not at a first reflection point I wouldn't worry so much.

In the wall-ceiling corners. Or set them on the floor leaning against the wall.

You're hosed. \:D

Seriously, the top wall is probably best, as long as you don't mind partially blocking the closet.

No.

Ethan,

Thanks so much for taking the time. I dont mind blocking the closet, so that is good. I just have to find a spot then for the sub. And build those traps. RIght now I got 8 705 pieces (2'x4'). What do I just wrap them in cloth. I have to go re-read your response to my question about building the traps.

thanks again! Invaluable help you've been.

Alternatively, if you want really easy fast panels, something like readytraps.com should work well.

You can also wrap the panels in a basic cheap fabric like cotton/muslin and if you're handy with wood, frame it for a pretty nice look.

For any panel build, if you are worried about fibres (allergies, kids, etc.) in the air, you can first buy polyester batting (fabric store), and glue a wrapping of it directly to the fibreglass with 3M Super 77 spray adhesive to keep the fibres locked in.
