I'm not sure how many of you ever ran into Tom Norton, but he passed away this past weekend after a short illness.

This is a tremendous loss for the Midwest audio community. Tom was an AMAZING resource for all things acoustical, and was never too busy to drop everything he was doing just so he could talk to you about why you should do things and why you shouldn't do others. He never ceased to amaze with his thorough knowledge of the science, and would constantly think of other documentation and tests that you needed to see. And then he would provide them for you before you left.

He spent so much time with me in helping design my studio that I felt I could never repay him. Now I'll not even get that chance.

He worked for Kinetics, and the shop had that name, but it was his helpfulness, knowledge, and all-around bright spirit that kept it all going.

Once when he was acting particularly excited about my studio's completion, I asked him why it seemed to mean so much to him. He replied "I just love studios!" How could you have anything but the greatest respect for a guy who goes to work with that attitude?

Tom leaves behind his wife Beth and two young daughters, Katie 9 and Dani 6. Contributions to a fund for his family may be made through

Goodbye Tom, you will be sorely, sorely missed.

Always Your Friend,
-Craig
