In the corner to the right of the mixer I'm going to put a Mini Trap. There's also a 4' tall Iso Rack to be backed into said corner. Will the rack affect the bass absorbtion in that corner?

Also, the wall to the right side of the mixer goes back about ten feet, comes in a few feet, then straight back about eight more feet. Is the partial corner that's 10' back a good place for a Mini (does LF build there), or should I put in the way back corner?

Thanks.

Bryson,

Maybe. An open-frame rack only half-filled with gear will block a bass trap less than a massive wooden enclosure having no open spaces. Maybe you could raise the trap up a bit so it starts above the top of the rack?

I'd treat the outermost corners first.

So will a mini trap have the same effectiveness at the top of a corner near the ceiling as it would at the bottom or midway?

Thanks.

A strictly absorptive bass trap will be most effective in trihedral corners, meaning corners where three surfaces meet. Wall/floor/wall junctions and wall/ceiling/wall junctions are the best place to start, then areas where two surfaces meet are next in line for effectiveness.

But panel traps and Hemholtz Resonators work differently. I can't remember if the Mini Trap is a panel trap or an absorptive one, or some other variation. In fact, I don't even know why I posted! Just ignore me.

Bryson,

Riot has the right idea.

In truth, all corner locations are important. So the real question is not if putting a trap in one place is better than in another, but if putting traps in both places is better than in only one. \:D

The answer is Yes.
