Greetings:
I recently installed ceiling tiles in the control room of my studio.I really like the finished result. It improved the acoustics in the room compared to the cloth I had on the ceiling.I liked it so much, that I was thinking of installing ceiling tiles in the studio.Presently,I have a popcorn ceiling.Good idea,or bad idea to change?Any ideas or suggestions would be great. Thanks

Whether it's a good idea or not depends on how the room sounds now. One problem with using ceiling tiles as the only treatment is they absorb only higher frequencies. Do you have other treatment?

That said, putting absorption on the ceiling is useful in a recording room when you have a low ceiling and use overhead microphones. That reduces the comb filtering that causes a hollow sound.
